cleaning tape setup

Hello:

I Have netbackup 4.5,using a StoreEdge L700.

I am not able to get the cleaning tape to clean. I have tried manually having the drives cleaned under devices, but I keep getting a mesage no cleaning tape defined, or 0 left.

Can someone please tell me the correct way to set up the cleaning tape so it works?

In the robot, do you have a cleaning tape set up with cleaning remaining on the tape? Check the currently loaded media of the robot and see if one is specified as DLT_CLN etc?

Hi

All that you need to do is to install a cleaning catridge in the L700 library and add it to the NetBackup database with the respective media type (dlt_clean, hcart_clean etc).

Else you can use "tpclean" command to manually clean your drives and also to schedule cleaning at intervals.

Thanks, I ended up starting over from the begining. Removing any reference to the cleaning tape in there, and manually haveing it put in the L7000 and configuring it, and it seems to work.
