I've wondered about the real difference b/t Win2k upgrade and the clean install, especially since noticing small configuration differences in "ipconfig" and "add printer".

Well, does anyone know FOR SURE whether W2k installs SP2 on upgrade? Some indication this morning lead me to believe "no, it does not".

Noting any other concrete, material differences would be appreciated.

No, upgrading does not automatically add SP2. Nor would a clean install automatically add SP2, unless the install disk WAS W2K SP2, which I don't think exists yet.

oh, well golly gee. maybe i'm be assumptive from the Win2k Server install. SP2 was definitely somewhere in the OS or system drivers. I guess I then assumed a similar case with Win2kPro.

thx for clarifying...
