CLAN ping problem with Nokia IP350

Hi All,

My Avaya csi installed 1x CLAN (firmware V12) & 1 x MedPro (firmware V95) for the IP phone running on CM2.1. The CLAN TN799DP (V12) can't ping & communicate with Nokia IP350 after connected to the Nokia IP350. It seems not compactable with that Firewall router but the Medpro board no this problem.

I try to interchange the LAN cable & change another IP address on the CLAN but the result also fail. By capture the packet with the snifter, found the CLAN ask ARP to Nokia IP350 and it reply ARP to CLAN and then CLAN have not send any ECHO request.

PS: The MEDPRO Board TN2302 didn’t have this problem it can ping with IP350, all the network setting speed/duplex are same as CLAN. Any idea for this case

Check the default gateway setting on your C-lan. I've put the wrong default gateway in several times, and other boards, or boards on the same network can ping it, but anything that has to go thru the default gateway will fail.

Were you able to resolve your problem? I am having the same problem with my new setup.

I can ping the IP Media processors but cannot ping anu of the C-LANs. The IP Media processor, C-LANs, and some PCs are on the same VLAN, same subnet but only the IP media processor can be pinged.

All the IP addresses/subnet masks are okay. Though default gateway is not needed to ping within the same subnet, but the default gateway is okay.

Any advice, tip, etc will be appreciated.

Hi isokocons,

Replied from Avaya COE they support only Cisco & Avaya brand router. They other brand they didn’t support
Please make a ticket to Avaya COE to push them to solve this problem a.s.a.p.
