Hello,
I have tried like anything to figure this one out. I have a 3810 that I shut the ether0 and try to set the duplex to full, and the speed to 100, but do not see it anywhare in the choices. i am certain that i am at the correct enabled interface prompt. Is this not an option on this unit? I have it terminated into a catalyst 2950, and it is showing the link autonegotiated at 10meg half duplex. i tried forcing the port on the catalyst to 100/full and then doing a reset on both sides, and it just ends up in a dead link. any ideas?

thanks, jeff

if its ethernet interface -like you mentio-, it can only do 10mb instead of fastethernet which can do 100mb.

Thanks - that is good info. But it should be able to be forced to full duplex regardless of 10m vs 100m, right?

thanks, jeff

not necessarily

some ethernet ports on cisco devices don't support full-duplex..
