Cisco's got great stuff, but it's really tough to beat HP. Unless your needing some Catalyst 6500's for high level core switching/routing and have need for their AIS modules (firewall card, network analysis module, content switching, etc...), HP has some great access, distribution, and now core switching in their 8212zl switch that comes pretty close to the CAT6500 with a 720 Sup Card. They also have a wireless controller card for some of their chassis based switches as well and with the lifetime for as long as you own the product, next business day advance replacement; not "limited lifetime" like other vendors push, it's hard to cost justify the Cisco. To get that same coverage with Cisco, you'd have to get Smartnet contracts on each switch... by the time 5 years rolls around, paying for Smartnets every year, you could have completely replaced your switches again with brand new current HP equipment with the money you spent on Smartnets.
