As soon as I turn on port mirroring on my cisco WS-C2950SX-24, using the CMS, the host that is used to monitor the traffic with becomes unreachable... I cannot ping or connect to it anymore.
As soon as I turn off the SPAN, I can connect to the host again...
What did I do wrong ?

thanks

P

How can I believe in God when just last week I got my tongue caught in the roller of an electric typewriter?

Thats the way SPAN ports are setup to work.. It because a monitor port, not a host port..

Only way around this is to put a 2nd NIC in that box..

make 1 NIC the monitoring NIC and the other one as your regular NIC..
