I want to replace the Linksys BEFSR41 router in my home network with a 2514 router and 2924 switch. I bought these on ebay in order to become more familiar with Cisco IOS and equipment. Will the twisted pair network ports on the 2514 slow down my connection to the Internet through my cable modem? Also what commands would I need to issue on the 2514 to give it the MAC address that the Linksys was using to get an IP from my ISP via DHCP? The 2514 is running IOS 12.1.

1. No more than the Linksys, I would think.
2. router(config-if)#mac-address nnnn.nnnn.nnnn

Thanks for the info. I will probably have more questions in a few days once I swap the hardware.
