I have a new dedicated T1 coming online this month. I am configuring for a Point-to-Point where I assign the IP to the remote location from my network. On this side I will be using a new Cisco 2821 and connecting to a 1721 at the remote facility. I am looking for a good link or walk thru for setting this up, can someone point me in the right direction? I will continue to look over the whitepapers on cisco.com as well.

Thanks,
Gerry

Are you wanting the remote locate to be on the same subnet as main location? If so then you will need to setup the connection as a bridge.

I am creating a seperate subnet for them.

Should be pretty straight forward.

1721

interface Serial0
ip address 10.0.0.1 255.255.255.252
encapsulation ppp
service-module t1 clock source internal

2821

interface Serial0/0/0
ip address 10.0.0.2 255.255.255.252
encapsulation ppp

If both networks access the internet through the 2821 remember to add both subnets to your NAT access list for access to the internet on the 2821. Also if you have not yet purchased the WICS the 1721 will need the WIC-1DSU-T1 and I beleive the 2821 needs the newer style WIC-1DSI-T1-V2. Double check that as the older style does not work in newer routers.

Thanks ... appreciate the help. Still pecking around for a good walk thru - trying to document this as I go. This place didn't document much but I'm all about documenting everything so I'm looking for a good cisco white paper on this.

Thanks though, I appreciate the feedback.
