Cisco Pix 506E VPN 1

Could any one help me on doing a vpn using cisco pix 506E

two remote sites connect to a main office, i know how to vpn using traditional cisco router
any link how to do it properly using the ios command

For vpn and other items, I always prefer using the GUI interface...

If you haven't already done so, enter:

http 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 inside

write mem and reboot.
In your browser type

https://routeripaddress

login and use the wizard.

You may need the latest java update on windows xp.

my friend told me that it will not properly, since he is a cisco guy, ios is good, but a bit too much for me for now
since i do understand some on pix, but not enough to do a good job at it

Using the Pix CLI is easy to configure and the GUI is also. I have been doing Pix for about 6 years now. The CLI is my choice by far. You can script you changes before hand, Apply them and also debug if there are poroblems from the CLI. The only think Ive used the GUI for is the cool interfaces utilization graph and memory utilization. All can be done from the CLI. The GUI will do the job also.

what is the default login for fresh install pdm ?
and password ?

If this is a fresh pix, then there's no password, both the user/pass fields are left blank.

If the pix is in use, login using a blank username and your pix "enable" password.

Keep in mind that if you're running windows xp, you may have to update your java software, otherwise the pix gui may stall.

i figure that part out after giving it a few try, it didn't work at first
i find the pdm very confusing

i will try to stick to the CLI
