I am hitting a brick wall trying to get my PIX 501 logging to my RH9 linux system. I am using PDM 3.0(1) and PIX IOS 6.3(3). I tried following this configuration example:

When I do this, I still never see anything logged. I want to log everything, I guess this would be local7.debug mode since its just me on the network. Anyone have any ideas?

All the commands you need on the PIX are as follow:

logging host inside 10.10.10.10
logging trap 7
loggin on

This is assuming the syslog server is on the inside network and the server's IP address is 10.10.10.10

Thanks for the reply, I think my question is more Linux related. Like how do I setup the logging on the Linux side.

Look at your /etc/sysconfig/syslog file. There needs to be a "-r" in there so that RH can receive log messages from the network (this is typically disabled by default)
