Cisco 837 router error

I am experiencing some problems with our remote branch routers - these are the errors I keep seeing.

the IOS version is 12.3.(7)T
file c837-k9o3sy6-mz.123-7.T.bin

4856: Feb 9 05:06:06: %SYS-3-CPUHOG: Task is running for (5000)msecs, more than (5000)msecs (100/39),process = Crypto IKMP.
4857: -Traceback= 801A3290 80C8FC84 80C87374 80C85474 80C81E1C 80C54CD0 80C78124 80C556C0 80C50A84 80C4F1C4 80C70660 80C7C964 80C7C430 80C71B14 80C71D2C 80C55728

Basically this error pops up then the EIGRP relationship goes mental.

Has anyone seen this before - is it a bug or is it something more sinister.

Would appreciate any help if possible.

You are getting a traceback probably due to an unexpected reload of the router or a hardware component. Due to the first syslog message posted I'm suspecting the VPN acceleration card is experiencing the reload. Tracebacks are frequently caused by a bug in the IOS code, but the tracebacks need to be decoded in order to determine the exact cause.

So you are running IPSec and EIGRP on a 837 router? Thats impressive. Mine can barely handle NAT, a GRE tunnel, and a few access lists.

Just what themut said, the unexpected reload could have come from your router crashing.

thanks for you help - where can I get the tracebacks decoded - is there a utility on the Cisco website or do I have to send it into TAC

Unfortunately there is no tool publicly available, you need to open a TAC case to decode the traceback. As I previously mentioned, tracebacks are frequently caused by a bug in the IOS code and usually are resolved by an IOS upgrade, but the it is determine once the traceback is decoded.
