Cisco 827 ADLS router - web console u/pwd reset how to

hi i became the IT Sys Admin for a company and had to find out the hard way how things had be left by the previous external IT support company.

they emailed me some console and enable pwds and how to reactivate the web server on the box by

enterting enable mode and using config t
ip http server CTRL Z

now when i try to open the web browser to its ip addr i get a response of a Level 15 authentication box

i tried admin as username and each of the 4 pwds i receive but to no avail

is there a different web admin username i should be using?

or how can i reset it from telnet console?

try without the username and just enter the enable pw.
but you seem to have access via console, so you can configure it.
Check the config to see if there is a username and pw configured. If not, then just try the enable pw and leave the username box empty.

thanks. i tried that still same prob

using hyperterminal i can login
then enable with password to a # prompt

could you tell me what i need to do from here to reset the web console password plz
