Hi am new to the Cisco World.

I have a 2621xm with two ethernet port and 1 T1 DSU WIC Card. I have an IP set on ethernet0/0 and the T1. Why can't I ping the T1 Ip address, do I need to add a route? even thou their on the same Router.

Thanks.

Hi have Ethernet0/0 ip 10.X.X.X 255.255.0.0
T1 10.X.X.X 255.255.255.0.
Both of same router.

I am trying to ping from the router itself to the T1 address, but don't get a respond.

Any here would be great.

You do know that they can't be the same subnets right? Because then it's actually not routing...

You can't have 10.10.10.1 255.255.255.0 on the Ethernet and 10.10.10.2 255.255.255.0 on the T1...you would need an IP on a different subnet.

Jynxx,
You are correct about the same subnet issue, but in tester125's case he is using different subnet masks, hence the network are not in the same network range (ie. e0 10.10.0.0/16 and T1 10.10.10.0/24)

tester125,
You may not be able to ping your T1 if its in a down state. Also the router may not be able to get a reply if the IP is configured on the main T1 interface. You may have to configure sub-interface. Can you ping the T1 IP on the remote router? Vice-versa, on the remote router can you ping your local router T1 IP? Post your config so we can have a look.
