Cisco 2620 termserver - need to set timeout on Async port

I have a Cisco 2620 termserver with a device connected to interface Async 60 (line 60).

When someone logs into the device hanging off of Async 60, and if they do not log out properly (disconnect the Async line), the line gets hung and we have to manually go in and:

clear line 60

I want to set some type of timeout on the Async/line so that it disconnects the port after X amount of idle seconds. I did try this but it did not work:

interface Async60
timeout absolute 5 0

Is there something else I need to setup so that there is an idle timer on that async port?

Thanks,

Rainman

Rainman,

Under your async interface, try:

dialer idle-timeout <secs>

I will give it a try tomorrow - thanks for the tidbit.

I tried to set that, and it's prompting me to use a dialer in-band? Do I need to set "dialer in-band" on the Async interface before applying the "dialer idle-timeout XXX" ?

Tx again - Rainman
