Hi,
Just acquired a 2503 router which I need short term, and it won't accept any IPs on the internal subnet it's attached to. Intended address is 128.0.16.x with mask 255.255.240.0. The config gives %Bad IP address% before it's even asked about masking. IOS is v11.2. 128.1.16.x is fine.
I admit it's probably not the best addressing scheme (i borrowed it from the company I used to work for), but does anyone know a workaround. Otherwise it's reassigning addresses to a lot of units, many on static addresses.
Would appreciate any help, or even a good reason for the failure. Would an IOS upgrade help?
Sorry, new to the Cisco world.
Cheers,
Neil
