We have inherited a 1603R Router minus software/manuals

There is an IOS IP/IPX smartcard with the router, however when I connect it to the hub and power it up I cannot see the router on the network. I am not using the WAN card as I want to use the ISDN BRI interface only.

How do I set up and see the router on the network?

just powering up the router is not enough. you will have to access it via the console port and configure the ethernet port first. hopefully you have the db9 adapter and the rollover cable to go with the router. If not you can get the pinout on ciscos web site. just add an ip or ipx address to the ethernet port that is in your local network range. then you will see the router
