Cisco 1600 - cannot erase flash

Hello,
I've Cisco 1600 router and I would like to upgade IOS on it. When I want to erase flash I receive such information. Could some one help me???




Router#show flash

I believe some models of 1600 don't allow you to overwrite the flash in live operation as all the software required is run and executed from there. The following URL explains how to flash a new IOS onto a 1600:

Did'nt some flash cards have a write protect on them?

JOAMON has hit the nail on he head, the PCMICA card will have a tab like a 3.5" floppy which can be write protected.
