I have a customer w/ old mics system. Having trouble w/ caller id. When I get to the step that should say feature assignment, it says class assignment! Can't find any caller id options there. Any suggestions?thanks

Not sure of software level, havn't been on site for a few days. Lines are assigned! CID does not display until calls are answered. I placed a CI trunk cartridge in expansion pack that controls lines 049-052 initially had a DS. Able to log calls just fine.found those settings in familiar places. when I get to where I think feature assignment should be, It comes up as class assignment. Can't find called id anywhere! Maybe different format?

Lines must appear & ring at the extension to auto display caller ID. On software levels lower than 6.1 you can only assign one extension per line to auto display caller ID. This is programmed in Class Assignment. As I recall you'll press SHOW at the Class Assignment prompt, enter a line number, and then enter the extension that will auto display caller ID. This is done for each line in the system.

no option to enter extension. here's my breakdown.....telco features-show/class assignment-show/ line 049-show/ call log set-Y or N / next / Extl. VMsg set- Y or N / next/ end of list! thanks

With MICS 4.1 there is only the capability of showing CID on one telephone set before the call is answered. after the call is answered and if you are transfering (such as out of AA) then the caller ID will show before answering. With a MICS 4.1 go into F**266344->Lines->trunk/line data->CLID Set: and set this to the one phone set that you want to have the caller ID data showing on (the line must also ring on the set).

jlb331 you should post your software version.

"telco features-show/class assignment-show/ line 049-show/ call log set-Y or N"

This is where you need to be.
Above shows line 049 (Line 9)is assigned to that phone.
However you need to do this to each line that is assigned to ring at that set.

Again lines must be assigned as Appear and Ring under Sets/LineAccess to see them in Telco Features.

Unfortunately I will not have an opportunity to apply these tactics until mid next week, however thanks so much! I do appreciate your time! I'll let you know how I came out....
