I have an older CICS (late 90s came with DR2). I have upgraded it to 7.0, it has one CI Trunk Card and 16 DNs.
I had it siting unplugged for a few years. It seemed to come up fine. I hooked up a couple of T7316Es and a Call Pilot 100 all works fine except no lines available.
I have programed lines on these sets to Appear & Ring, added lines to Pool A, set Prime Line on these phones to Pool A, I have even tried setting line 001 to be Private to one T7316E. When I press Feature * 0 & LINE 1 button it displays "LINE 001", etc. BUT when I press a line after a few seconds it displays "NOT IN SERVICE". I guess the CI Trunk Card isn't working. I powered down pulled the CI Card, Rebooted, Powered down, Reinstalled CI Card & Rebooted. Still no lines.
Is there a Reset command or something else I should be doing to get the CICS to recognise the CI Card?
THANKS
JIM

Have you went into the Maintenance menu and made sure that the card was enabled? If it says it is then disable it and re-inable it.

Did you give the ksu enough time to reconize the card you should here a click when is does.

Do you remember why it was sitting in the corner for a few years? I've been stung by hanging on to old hardware on the premise "I'll fix it when I have time", and then counted it into my stock inventory...

Thanks every one for your suggestions,
Sorry I took so long to reply.
It looks like I need to try a new CI Card.

Thanks Again

Jim

No true at all!

I would also wonder did you give the system enough time to register...5 minutes maybe?

Also what Hawks mentioned.

Hi this CI card is a bit older, I believe it has a date of aprox. 2000. I did leave it powered up for a long time (like overnight) it didn't register.
I pulled a newer, working CI card from a MICS and it came up fine, so it looks like a component decided to give up. I reset the CICS by shorting the cap. and then reinstalled the old sofware and the old CI card didn't work, so it not a big deal. I can swap the working CI card with a cheaper LS/DS in that MICS and put the CI in the CICS.

I guess I should stick to a newer LS/DS if I pickup a refurbed one.
Thanks again for your help/suggestions.

Jim

Oh yeah,

HAWKS I did try to DISABLE AND ENABLE the card. NO GO.

When I put the working CI in I did notice the "CLICK" noise but not for the non woking card.

Cheers...
