In XP, when we want to send an email we can choose the the account to send from with the Accounts button. How do you do that from Outlook 2000?

Ummm, we have a bit of a problem here....

In short, you can't.

The long version is: Tools, Services, Delivery tab, change the order of your sending services. I would suspect that you'd need to log off, then back on to make the changes effective.

create a new message then use View -> From Field.
you can then choose an address from the address book or type something in.

When doing that, the message still comes in from the real sender 'on behalf of' the chosen sender.

That's the correct behaviour from Outlook because it's designed to be used primarily with Exchange rather than as a stand alone mail client.

I realize that that's correct behavior for Outlook 2K, but I don't think that's what jojo11 was after.
