I am trying to perform a chkdsk /f on a client station. I receive an error message stating: "disk check could not be performed because exclusive rights to the drive could not be obtained."

We did not have this problem until we joined are computers to the domain. Also, we can't perform chkdsk in safe mode. How can we obtain exclusive rights to the drive? Thanks.

I've seen the error too. Try not selecting the automatically fix and bad sector options and you should be able to do it. I haven't really looked into it but I would guess its an ownership issue?

I am able to scan but that does me no good if I need to fix a bas sector. Regardless of who is logged in (admin or user w/ admin priv), no one is able to use chkdsk switches. Does anyone know a fix or a work-around?
