Chinese Simplified Characters Problem

Ladies and Gentelmen,

Our Companys President got an e-mail from China with a bunch of jpg and xml attachments out of 20 I can only open 5. When you trying to open a jpg the error is ( Can't open File ) The attatchments range anywhere from 60KB to 166Kb so there is something there. Please help Matt

No it's a legite e-mail not everything from China is spam. Calling yourself MIS you should know better.

Save As" the files to file1.jpg etc. then open from the saved copy.

If the file name has Chinese characters it won't open for me. (Win2000/2003/XP)

Check the file contents manually:

%PDF - first four characters of a .pdf file
GIF - first three of a .gif
II* - first three of a .tif
FF D8 FF - Hex values of first three characters of a .jpg

Then save the file with the correct extension for the file type.
