Greeting.....as I am new to administring an Exchange Server, I thought I'd ask this question here.....one of our salespeople has not been heard from in over a week....they (sales staff) typically work remotely from home via VPN. We have not heard from this guy (voice mail, email, in person, phone, etc..) in over a week...the President of the company is asking if I could check to see when the last time was that he accessed his email via webmail.domain/exchange. Is there a way for me to do so?

Thanks in advance!

Of cause you can; the most primitive way is by using and Exchange System Manager; expand the Server views drill down to mailboxes and logons, you sort view by last logon time.
Also if you are logging the VPN connections through the RADIUS server, just go to \\windows\system32\logfiles\...etc
and find your logs where you can see the time for last remote connections and things...

I hope it helps!!!

Sam.

Sam,

Thanks so much for your response. I'm really new to Exchange Server so will be having to ask many questions....I have one user that when she access her Outlook from her desktop computer up front, works like a charm...but then when she hooks her laptop up in the back and accesses Outlook, she get the error message that the Exchange Server is not available....when she clicks on Retry, it connects......any thoughts on that?

Thanks again, I think the logfiles is where I need to be spending some time!

Sorry, can not follow; what do you mean upfront and in the back? Just let me know if you have only one domain and she uses desktop and laptop (as clients on the domain). If this is the case, check her exchange client profile ; make sure it is online and not offline mode, make sure cashed mode is checked when her mail-profile is created.

Stay in touch,
Sam.

Sorry...Up front means at the front desk, and in the back means back in her office...roaming profile. It is in online mode, not offline mode...will check the cached mode tomorrow. Thanks again for your help, all of you.

On another note, how can you go back and make sure someone is running in cached mode, after the account has been created?

Thanks,
John
