Hello,

I have a client that has a Desk Phone, and a Remote VPN Phone. Is there a way I can set up the Remote Phone to allow him to press a button and Check Voicemails at his Desk Phone (As well as his remote phone)?

It would also be ideal if the button could light up when a new message is left at his Desk Phone, On his Remote Phone.

I tried adding the V109 (Desk Extension) Source Number on the VPN Phone and that did not work

They are on R6.1

Thanks

Twin the two phones or give the user a login code and let him/her login on the phone he/she is using at any given time.

To expand on Intrigant's answer

For users who have two phones (For exmple a Desk Phone & A cordless Phone) Twinning is the best solution, If the user works from multiple locations then Hot-desking is the way to go.

I the Above scenario Twinning would require the least amount of re-work although setting the user up correctly for hot desking would be the more technically correct solution although possibly more work for the end user.
the VPN handset would need to register with a dummy extn & then the user log into his normal ext n when working from home.

For Completeness:-

It is possible to access mailboxes for other users - to get message indication you need to add U<UserName> in source numbers. This is best suited to manager secretary working NOT this scenario.

The source number "U<username>" passed my mind BUT it is only supported on R9 and higher, this system is on R6.1.

Did not see the V6.1 but even so my mentioning of it was for completeness in case anyone else was having a similar requirement.

For Agistech if i was designing from scratch i would probably have recommended hot-desking, as a retro-fit Twinning as we both previously suggested
