Check SQL Server 2000 Load

I don't want to do a load test, I want to see what the current usage load is and determine if it is a burden on the system (which I do not believe that it is).

What is the easiest to run/ view to achieve a load level, and perhaps even how it compares to what the system could/ should be able to do?

Use Performance Monitor to check the CPUs, Memory usage, hit cache ratio, disk queues, etc.
