Hi,

I'm using XI and SQL server to produce a dashboard report with a number of line graphs. I'm trying to give each line a unique series marker. The default is a square and I want to use triangles and circles as series markers on the other lines.

I've been through the charting functionality from top to bottom and can't see a way to change the series marker shape. You seem to be able to change the colour/ texture or apply a clip art image but I can't for the life of me find the option to change the basic shape.

Any help?

Thanks

Paulos

In 8.0 you could do this by right clicking on the chart->chart analyzer->format chart->general->general tab->check "show markers on line"->shape->select a shape.

If you wanted to use different markers for two lines within the same chart, I think the only way in 8.0 might be to create two charts and make all but the line transparent in one of them and then overlay it. To ensure the same y-axis values, you would probably have to add the second line to the base chart and then make it transparent.
