The sample data always looks good! Can't get anything meaningful out of the chart wizard though. I'm trying to create a pie chart. Have a column in a table with values 1,2 or 3, representing Incomplete, Completed and N/A. I'd like to map the 1's,2's and 3's around a pie chart. I've also tried doing it from a table that has 3 columns already containing the sums of the 1's, 2's and 3's. Adding the chart to a report. When I preview I usually get either a circle with a line at 12 0'clock, or no pie at all - just a box with the heading. I know SQL, but am baffled as to what the chart utility is looking for. Frank

table looks like this

table1
fld1 recid
1 1
2 2
3 3
6 4

Insert the chart walk thru the data

under the row source it should look something like this

SELECT [fld1],Sum([fld1]) AS [SumOffld1] FROM
GROUP BY [fld1];

If it is not showing data then double click on the chart it will open a window.
Under data be sure series in columns is selected

should be that simple

good luck

Thanks! I changed Sum to Count and that worked.
Another question: My chart labels and legend are coming out 0,1,2. I changed them in the datasheet and they look OK in the report in design mode, but revert back to 0,1 and 2 when I run. Any ideas?
