I've tried a bunch of different things, but I can't seem to get this 8.5 chart to sort by ascending date. I can't use "specified order" as this is specifically reporting date for the last 12 months, and that will change as time passes. Right now it tries to sort numerically or alphabeitcally and that just doesn't work where dates are concerned.

is how it does it if I try to do things numerically. And it does it bungled up if I just do the names of the months too. Ideally (ie the way the boss wants it) the axis needs to read Monthname 2 digit year (Jun 04) or month and year numeric (12/04) Please help.

You need a leading zero on the month. Try
Totext({Your.date}, "MM/yyyy")

It's still not sorting properly. Now I get this:

It's sorting by month but not taking the year into consideration before sorting.

Hi

Instead of making the month/year field a text field, use Date((date}) or create a field with this. This is your "on change of" field for the graph so select that and you'll see the buttons for Top N and Order are enabled. Select Order and there is a pull down list for "this section will be printed" - choose for each month and then it recognizes the values in order.

Hope this helps!

Thank you shelby! There was no "This section will be printed" but when I changed to the date field from the table, there was an option for "Cart values shown for" and I selected "each month"! Thanks for the help!
