I am using Windows 2000 Professional on a laptop at work. I am used to using the character map in Windows NT. I am unable to use the keystrokes in Windows 2000 like I did in Windows NT. When I enter a keystroke (for example ALT + 0177) all the machine does is beep at me. I have tried
it in several different programs thinking it was maybe the program I was using, but it still doesn't work. I've also tried different fonts without any luck. Does anybody have any ideas?

Thanks,
Michelle

Works for me. (Alt+0177 = ±) You sure you have the proper keyboard driver installed? And, the NumLock on? Just checking.
