Logged in the Domain as the Admin. I want to change the local Administrator password. I know this sounds stupid but my brain is broken. No user accounts locate din the control panel.

HIt CTRL+ALT+DEL and use the change password on the windows security screen.

MAL

But I am logged on to the Domain as the Administrator, not locally. Normally one can use the control panel to go to users/accounts and reset any local password, etc...

on the server where you want to change the local admin password:

net user administrator newAdminPasshere

don't put /domain

MAL

On the compurt you login to, point to "My Computer" on the desktop, RMC and select "manage".

Then goto "Local users", select Administrator, RMC, and select change password.

There are no local user id's and passwords on windows server 2003 that is a member of a domain. Use "Active Directory Users and Computers".

ntfsDOTsys,

If I disjoin from the domain and then reboot I would need to know that Administrator password to log in to the machine. That is what I am attempting to change.

ntfsDOTsys is wrong. As long as the server is a MEMBER server, then the local accounts and groups still exist. ONLY when it becomes a DC do the local accounts and groups get removed. ADUC is only for managing Domain accounts, not local. Follow the advise of nsantin and you'll be all set.

Just did it nsantin. Thank Again. Worked like a charm.
