I have to backup the systems I maintain using tty 0.
Many of these systems have tty 0 set to 1200 for use with an external modem.
My question is what is the correct way to change the speed on the SSC card?
Either way I seem to crash the switch, is it best to:
A. Switch 1200 off then 9600 on
or
B. Switch 9600 on as well as 1200, then switch 1200 off (ie 2 switches thrown for a brief second)

I backed up a switch with 860K+ data today and by the time I had done an XVR as well it took over 4 hours.

Thanks

tty 1 has an interupt assigned, it has to because it comes up pre-os.. best way to change speed is with the switch off.. but i have, during an install changed the speed and it did not ini, and worked.. the next time i changed one, same way 1200 off 9600 on, i ended up ordering a new ssc..

Hello,

just switch the 1200bps to the left and then the 9600bps to the right position and then adjust your terminal.

That will work without any inerruption.

If you reconnect your modem you need also to verify the boudrate settings on your modem.
