Hi

I have a customer on 6.0.8 and has 1408 digital handsets on embedded voicemail. They need to change the time.I have given one handset level 2 rights and a button of self-administer with an action data of 2. When she presses the button all it gives her is the name of the system and what software she is on. She is telling me they is no button for time or data.

Any ideas

Cheers Nick

I think you may need the system time server to be 0.0.0.1 to disable it searching for a time server, then it will allow her to do it :)

Disable the timeserver in manager and set the user "system telephone rights" to 2.
Then access the time settings through the phone menu and not by programming a button.

Here is a step-by-step (dummied down for those who are not real familiar with IPO) guide to resolve your issue:

1.
In Manager, click on 'System/System tab' and set the 'Time Setting Config Source' to 'None'.

2.
Click on User/User tab and choose the ext you would like to have the 'Set Time & Date' button, aka Self-Administer button. Once decided, change the 'System Phone Rights' of that user to 'Level 2' and then click on 'Button Programming' tab.

3.
In the 'Button Programming' tab, create an 'Emulation' button - 'Self-Administer' with an 'Action Data' set to 2 and 'Labeled' however you like.

The key to the process is step 1, which allows you to use the 'Self-Administer' button as it was designed to be used prior to R6. You should only have to do step 1 for 1400, 1600, 9400, 9500 and 9600 series phones.

If you would prefer to not have a 'direct' button to manually change the time, you can use sizbut's link above for the alternate 'menu' route.

Hope this helps...

Step 1 is not possible in anything pre 7 (OP is on 6.0), that's why I said to do 0.0.0.1 as that is the equivalent

Nick upgrade too, 6.0.8 is dodgy :)
