In order to change the default Desktop folder for the
Administrator account, I have edited the "Desktop" REG_SZ
string at:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Shell Folders

But unfortunately after reboot, the string is reset to the
default value of:

C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Desktop

Does anybody know how to permanently change this value?
thx.

I used TweakUI in my Windows 9x/Me days, never thought it
could be used for Windows NT based systems. I assumed it could
not cause the microsoft does not mention compatibility with
win2k. Now I tried it and it seems to run perfectly.
But what if I want to change my

C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator

folder. I would like to change my root directory also.
There is no reference in the registry and in TweakUI to this
folder.

Does this mean it is impossible to change?

Administrator is a bad choice, as there will always be an Administrator account.

Try changing a regular user shell folder location using the notes by Kent England and TweakUI. This should work.
