Is it possible to change screen resolutions in different user accounts setup in windows xp pro that does not affect other accounts? because when my stepson uses the computer on his account, he changes the screen resolution to 800x600, and when I login with my admin account I have to change it back to 1024x768, it seems that changing the screen res in an account affects all accounts, globally.

bcastner......

Thanks for the links, the first one, that offers xp_userdisplay isn't really what I'm after, but on the same page is another utility that has support for fast user switching, it's called 'xpkeepuserdisplaysettings' this is the one I was after, it stays running as a process and detects fast user switching, then sets the display, according to per user setting, there's no default logon res, but I can live with that.

If this forum has star rating, I'd give you 5 for this post, thanks again.

That is very kind of you to say.
Best,
