Hi I want to add a button to my html page where it gives the viewer a choice of clicking on it and changing the screen resolution to 1024x768?
Is this possible
thanks

I'm pretty sure this is not possible... I have not failed; I have merely found 100,000 different ways of not succeding...

Resolution cannot be changed. You can resize the window to whatever you wish though.

Hi Cheech what do you mean exactly? By changing window size? Whats the difference?

Resolution is the amount of pixcells your monitor displays, window size is the size of the window that is open.

So if I have a site that is made for 1024x768 and I don't want someone with 800x600 to see it with scrollbars what should I do?

the only way is to do it in reverse.

You can't change the punters monitor resolution, but you can load detect resolution and load different code or different pages totally.

As of last week, my firm started developing site to work up to 1400 res, so all new site will do a resolution check, then load different images and styles sheets accordingly so the sites look similar on all resolutions.

Bit of an effort though, if jo and jean bloggs want a website, I wouldn't bother, but I'm doing it for all my larger customers.

There is a 'css on resolutions' and redirect on resolution' extension at MM, and there are heaps of examples of peopl's code on the net to say,... laod a different page background depending on resolution, laod a different table background, laod a different iamge etc,
