We now have a NT4.0 PDC and 2 NT4.0 BDC's. I would like to Promote one of the BDC's to PDC and remove the old PDC and replace it with a new Server running Server 2000. I have not worked with domain controlers "setting up or changing" for some time now. The end result is we will have one of the old NT4.0 BDC's as the new PDC and the old NT4.0 PDC removed from the network and replaced with a new server running 2K server not as a domain controller. What is the best way to go about doing this?

Just go to Server Manager, select the BDC that you want to be the PDC, and 'Promote' it. Then, once the promotion process has been completed, take the old PDC (now a BDC) off the network. Delete it from the domain using Server Manager. Then do whatever you want with the former PDC. It's all actually pretty simple.
