Hi,

I am planning to insert links on a table to wordperfect documents, pdf files, folders, etc. on our server. Before we begin the linking process I wanted to know ahead of time what would happen if in the future we were to move all the documents to a new drive or new location on the server. Is there a way to easily redirect links from one drive to another.

Thanks,

Linda

bertrandr,

Assuming you are storing the links in a text field, all you will need to do is create an update query that replaces the server and path portions using standard string functions.

Here is a post. Look at PHV reply. Just change from a Select query to an update query.

Also there are other examples, just search this site.

I hope this helps.

I thought I searched the forum for this topic. . . Thanks for the informative advice and threads. I haven't tried to do it yet but will do so soon.
