I need to change the location of the data files for a database. We are running out of disk space on the c: drive of the SQL Server. My questions are:

1. How is this done?
2. Are there any caveats to this as I have several SSIS packages that are pointing to this particular database?

Thanks in advance.

1. You can detach the database, then copy the .mdf and .ldf files to the new location. Then Attach the database pointing to the files in the new location.

2. It shold not affect your SSIS packages.
