I have a bunch of linked tables to SQL7 in Access 2k. Right now each user's machine has a 'ccdata' ODBC connection which is the prod db. I want to create a test version of the Access db and point them to a differnt ODBC connection (for testing). How do I change the current linked tables from 'ccdata' to a diffrent ODBC setting?

Thanks,

Kyle

In the access database you can use Linked Table Manager and check the box for 'Prompt for new location'. Then when you update them you can point it to the new ODBC connection.

i think that method only covers linking to other Access databases.

To link to SQL, Oracle or other databases, go

FILE-GET EXTERNAL DATA-LINK TABLES

then at the bottom of the window that comes up, in FILES OF TYPE, go all the way to the bottom of the drop-down box and choose ODBC databases.

You have to have the DSN set up on yours and others' machines (thru control panel or with the wizard that comes up doing the steps above).
