Hi
I would like to change the actual domain name set on a win2k server box from to mydomainname.com. I've made an error when assigning this name to my PDC. Since by default win2k pro boxes and other machines are using the netbios mydomainname, I don't think it would be a big deal after the change is made. Any idea of how to make this change as smooth as possible....

I can't understand, bronto!
I have downloaded a word file from this link given by Paul with the title: Microsoft windows 2000 server - step by step guide to implementing domain rename. But further it is written:

This document provides the information and step-by-step instructions necessary to perform a domain rename operation in an existing implementation of the Active Directory™ directory service in a Microsoft® Windows® .NET forest. When additional information is required, references to the Microsoft® Windows® .NET Server Resource Kit and Windows .NET Server Help and Support Center are provided.

I know, the article is very misleading....

Whatever thanks to you Paul and Bronto
