Changing DNS Role

Hi all, I have some doubts on the DNS. Hope to hear from all advices.

Currently my DNS Server is running on W2k and its role is Primary. But it is running in WinNT Domain.

I have setup a new server DC with AD.
I have some reasons for setting up new DC instead of in-place upgrade on the existing PDC.

Can I simply change the DNS role from Primary to AD Intergrated??
OR
I need to join the DNS to the new W2k Domain and change its role??
