I have a my local carrier changing over one of my T1s from robbed-bit to ISDN\Pri signaling. I have to pass call display going forward and presently my T1 will not allow this. I am presently using an Avaya Definity G3Si. Right now the T1 is programmed as robbed bit and the trunk group this is associated with is Type = Tie.

Are the only two places I have to make my changes at as follows:

CHANGE DS1 "Board Number"

and

CHANGE TRUNK GROUP 1

By the way this is the only T1 that will be in trunk group 1.

Thanks

First, remove all members from the trunk group being converted to ISDN-PRI.

Second, remove the DS-1 board from translations.

Third, add the DS-1 board back in. The framing should be 'esf' and the line coding should be 'b8zs'. The Signaling Mode should be 'isdn-pri'.

Fourth, create an ISDN-PRI Signaling Group 'add signaling-group x'. Since you only have a single ISDN-PRI span, the Group Type = 'isdn-pri', Associated Signaling = 'y', Enter the board slot and use channel 24 for the 'D' channel.

Fifth, On the Trunk Group form change the Group Type from 'tie' to 'isdn'. If you are using Call-by-Call change the Service Type to cbc. Add the members back in.

You can use 'status signaling group x' and 'status trunk group x' to check your work.

Starting at page 940 on the attached link addresses the DS-1 form and the Signaling Group. The Trunk Group stuff starts on page 1534.

If your switch is a G3r, S8700, or S8500 you must use a TN464 for any ISDN-PRI circuit that contains a 'D' channel.

For G3si switches that are less than V7 you will also need a port on a ProcessorInterface circuit pack (TN765).

This may also help. Here is how mine are programed.

Thanks guys for your help. I am actually taking a T1 that I have on a Predictive dialer, that is programmed already, tomorrow and testing this. I will let you know how I make out.

Thanks again for your time and help.

Shane

I make the changes that was suggested, changed my DS1 board, 2A16 to signaling mode = isdn-pri and made a new ISDN trunk group. In the new ISDN trunk group I brought in the first 6 memebers of the DS1 board mentioned above. When I do a STATUS TRUNK 5 , the six members are showing as OUT-OF-SERVICE-NE. I called my local carrier and they see the Dchannel as failed. I have confirmed that it is the 24th channel on the T1. I added a new signaling group as 5 to the 24th channel on DS1 2A16.

Not sure where to go from here.

Thanks
Shane
