Very nice find syar.

The Netsh Helper and the IE revisions are an impressive steps to try and prevent the ridiculous number of browser hijacking and unsolicieted pop-up windows plaguing the internet right now.

But alas folks will need to wait to see this release. The beta is nicely done; imagine a stand-alone Security Hotfix panel that does an analysis of a local or remote computer, does a security analysis, and pushes the needed missing hotfixes to bring the system up to date. IE has added a lot of controls on ActiveX and java scripting; is self-contained in the sense that it does not rely on DLLs; and rather aggresively blocks attempts by hijacking malware to change the configuration.

But alas, the opening screen says "Winter, 2004"

Yeah Bill!
There is some interesting changes to come.
Haven't read it all thoroughly though ,just skimmed through it.

Nice that they have described the policies and registry controls.

I understand that a "final" beta (not alpha) is now out at beta testers.

That is what I was looking at, and it says "Winter, 2004"

"Winter, 2004"

Does that mean Aussies are going to get SP2 6 months earlier than our Northern Hemisphere friends?

Not until you give us the Cup back from NZ. For Aussies and New Zealand, there is a programmed delay of 12 months.

Think about it next time you steal the cup from the likes of Paul Allen, Phillipe Khan and Larry Ellison.

Now that's funny...
