We have a Nortel CS1000M, I forget how to determine the software version. :+)

A Tech at AT&T has suggested that I clean up a caller-ID problem affecting incoming calls, in the following manner: He says to change the PRI config to send "National ISDN" instead of "subscriber" or "local" in the Nature of Number INformation Element field on an outbound PRI call to our providing network.

I've found the route data block for the T-1's in question, and they have NATL set to YES (printed from LD 21). Is this what he's talking about, anybody know?

Thanks for any consideration!

LD 22 - prt iis for the rls. The clid problem could also be with the RCAP setting of the D channel. Nut you didn't say if it was PRI, but I would assume so if you are expecting clid. Prt your RDB and D channel info and we will take a look. D channel - LD 22 - prt, adan dch (#).

Can you clarify your question a bit? Are you having trouble on the inbound as you stated first? or the outbound as you stated last?

Sorry, can't read or type either, but 30n30w has you going the right direction. We may need to know info from the D channel messaging.

You can send local calls to a DMI table and change the call type to National

Thanks for the input, guys! My software version is 3621, and the release is 5, issue 50 J +.

The problem is with incoming calls showing an extra area code before the number that's calling.

I printed the ADAN DCH info, shown below:

Can you print off your RDB please?. Also print off from LD 21 the FTR data I'm wondering if you might have added in a different DAPC table. You should already have a DAPC table of "0", but any other table such as "1" onwards can be assigned to a RDB to show a leading digit on incoming CLID calls.

Thanks again, zigmo36

Thanks for that. The DAPC table isn't the problem as only the default is shown in the printout. My guess is that you might need to look at the RCAP settings as I could only see "COLP" present. I'm not sure if you need to add in extra data such as "NDI" etc.

One of my old customers had a QSIG link to a Cisco switch with CLID problems and I ended up adding a bunch of prompts such as.. RCAP NCT MWI COLP NDI CCBI CCNI PRI DV3I CTI QMWI etc.
