I have changed the appearance of xp a bit so the taskbar is back to boring greyish white. How do I change the taskbar back to the gradient blue default.

It should be in Themes tab of the appearances applet in control panel.

Right click on desktop, choose properties. I'm sorry I'm not on an XP machine right now so I can't get more specific. =============

Right click "My Computer", choose "Properties", go to "advanced"(the tab between "hardware" and "system restore". I'm using Chinese WinXP so maybe the names of the buttons are not proper), click "settings" of "performance"(the first "settings" button), in "visual effects" tab, choose "let Windows choose the computer's best settings", click OK.
Now everything is back.

You can do all kinds of things here. Dave

Thanks for that, I just changed it back to the XP theme and everything changed back to normal except the task bar. So I restarted my computer and it was back to normal.

Thank You
