Is there a way to change the server name and IP address?

I just need to write a program that reside locally on a server and can change the name and IP then reboot the server. This is for a backup server that remains online for redundency but has to have the name and IP changed if the primary server goes down in order to avoid changing the ODBC connections and over 100 workstations.

I don't think that can be done in software, I think your approach should be to configure the software running on the "100 workstations" to try the primary server first and then try the secondary server.
