The company I work for uses primarily 9608 Avaya phones. When the phone gets reset or loses it extension some of them try to log in as another extension. I want to change this default extension so that it tries to log into the correct extension when it reboots. Do you know how to do this? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

make sure under user/telephony/supervisior settings/ that no log in code is defined, this shoould fix your problem

Or just untick force login, then you can leave a login code if you like :)

A menu, scroll down to log out, this will unregister the handset. then you can input the correct base number. Sounds like people are logging in on other phones rather than reregistering the phones when they shift desks.

Disable the "LOGOFF" feature in the 46xxsettings.txt file : SET OPSTAT 110
Then the ase extension number will be unchanged when the phone reboots and the user cannot unregister the phone.
They need to use the IP Office logon (*35) and Logoff(*36) feature.

A simple mind delivers great solutions
