One of my departments has requested that they want the name of the department instead of a number sent when making external calls. How can this be accomplished, The external Mask only excepts numeric digits?

Change CLID External from number to name

You would have to get your telco to put the department name on the numbers you want to show that particular name. Not all telco's will even do that.
