Hardware platform? Definity/CM software version?
tn750C are not supported on newer linux platforms. The only storage is on the board.
tn750C can only store 255 seconds total on each board. Announcements are stored on the board
and can be saved to flash card for legacy g3si, g3csi and can be saved to disk for legacy g3r
as well as MO Disks (one board per hard disk, one board per MO disk, one board per flash card)
Storage of extension to uid in Definity software tables for each announcement on each board is
used and this extension to uid to board is used to save onto the boards. tn750C boards can be
unplugged and will hold the announcement data on the boards flash memory. tn750B and tn750 will
lose any stored announcement when unplugged. Restores from backup media put recorded announcements
back into switch memory indexed by uid, extension, board data that is used to save them.
Bottom line. You will need to add a new announcement extension, record it.
delete the old announcment(s) from the board with feature-access-code
removing the announcement from Definity/CM administration may not remove the recorded announcement
from the board. This works the same for tn2501 boards with .wav files.
.wav files must be deleted from the board. The "erase" command will blank all announcement data on
tn750 or tn2501
There is no software audits to assure all announcement extensions have an associated recording.
There is no software audits to assure all recordings have announcement extensions. Housekeeping is a tedious
but necessary task to maintain used and unused space on all boards and audio groups
A great teacher, does not provide answers, but methods to teach others "How and where to find the answers"
