can a phone have two dns, have one dn on forward, but execpt in coming from the other dn?
Tim

Depending on set type, will not work on 2006 or analog, you can program 2 or more dns to a set. The cfw only affects your PDN or key 0 DN, you should be able to accept calls on the other DN keys.

Keep in mind that the secondary DN will also need to be programmed on some other set. If you have DN xxxx on Key 0, and DN yyyy on key 4, CFW would effect both if DN yyyy appears on no other set.

This is also what happens for FDN, HUNT, and CLS assignments if DN yyyy has no Key 0 of its own to direct it.

Hope this helps,

Scott M.

your post is confusing, you have 1 dn on a phone, you want to forward that unless the boss calls, no. if you have two dn's on a phone and one is not marped to that set, you can forward one without the other. but the secondary dn can be forwarded from the marped appearence... if i wanted to forward my set, i would forward it and add a dig for calls that i still needed from internal callers

Thnx for the replies, im sorry johnpoole, maybe i wasnt very clear.

1 x 3904, 2 x DNS's

1 x DN forwarded to another internal number
and the other accepting calls

How?

Tim

johnpoole,

also please accept my ignorance as not very advanced at this, but dig?

dial icm group, a two or 3 digit in house feature
06 DIG 4 28 V, all our dn's are did, so on that phone key 0 is mcr 4428, his dept has all the 4400 dn's, most users have a icm key that matches the last two digits of the did. the v, is for voice icm, one ring then it auto answers, if you put a r there, all icms in that group, (4) ring a normal ring, but don't forward

SRMEGA41 is correct. To get the one line to forward it would be key 0 the other line, on anyother key, to ring you would need to build it on another set or built a dummy 500 set with no phone connected. If it only appears on the set that is forwarded then all calls to that dn will forward.
